....Meanwhile, On Route 109...

To facilitate the change of command ceremony at the Medway Town Hall on Village Street,  Village Street itself was blocked off by police and DPW vehicles were used there and an many sidestrests in the surrounding area, making it tricky to get past the area and leaving Route 109 (Main Street) as the only good option.

Unfortunately, just as the ceremonies at Town  Hall were winding down, there was a two-car, head-on crash reported at 11:03 a.m. at 133 Main Street, which temporarily stopped movement in both directions, further snarling   town  traffic.

One car, a 2019 Subaru Legacy driven by a 79-year-old Franklin woman, while headed west, crossed the center line and struck a 2020 Chevy Silverado operated by a 68-year-old man from Walpole head-on. The Legacy promptly burst into flames, which units of Holliston Fire and local first responders put out.

Both drivers were transported with injuries. Sergeant Paul McLaughlin is investigating.
