Adam Deitch, with the convenient initials of AD, announced his run for district attorney, DA, on Wednesday in Norfolk County.
On his website, he states, "Until ten days ago, I served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, where I handled bank robberies, gun and drug cases, child exploitation, cyberstalking, and all kinds of fraud. I then focused on investigating and prosecuting corruption cases across Massachusetts, including right here in Norfolk County."
He said he running for District Attorney because he believes Norfolk County "deserves a DA’s Office defined by fairness, competence, trust, and professionalism."
Its a crowded field. A few weeks ago, Contrarian Boston claimed that State Senator Becca Rausch, noted for supporting prison moratoriums and a range of other progressive causes, wants to be the county's top law-enforcement official...(though there has been no confirmation from Rausch, herself). Other candidates, in the running include Djuna Perkins, seemingly the first to declare interest in the post, followed by Craig MacLellan and Jim Barakat.
Morrissey himself has not yet said whether he will seek reelection.
