MEDWAY: Carleen Ruth Dowd

Carleen (Scott) Dowd of Medway, MA passed away Wednesday, October 28.

She was the wife of James F. Dowd, Jr., who passed away in 2010.

Born in Portsmouth, NH, Carleen was the daughter of Colby and Ruth (Stansfield) Scott. She grew up in Ashland MA and later graduated from Beverly Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She started her career as an LPN in the late 60s and retired in 2012 from Bethany Healthcare Center in Framingham, MA.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

Carleen is survived by two daughters, Cherilyn Dowd of Medway and Allison and her husband Charles White of North Brookfield, and her two grandsons, Brodie and Cullan White. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor Tuesday November 3rd at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home 325 Main St. Ashland, MA 01721. Burial to follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway, MA. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 9:00 – 10:30am prior to the service.
