Funeral arrangements have been announced for Police Officer Stephen LaPorta, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving the Uxbridge Police Department and the community he so proudly protected.
Officer LaPorta will be honored with the following services:
Visitation/Wake:

Funeral Service:
Date: Thursday, January 15, 2026
Time: 11:00AM
Location: St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, MA 02038
Burial:
Location: St. Mary’s Cemetery, 88 Granite St, Uxbridge, MA 01569
Open to the public, however at the family’s request, there will be no cameras allowed inside the church for the services.
Law enforcement agencies from across the region are expected to attend to pay their respects and stand in solidarity with Officer LaPorta’s family, friends, and fellow officers.
Officer LaPorta served with honor, courage, and unwavering dedication. His commitment to public safety and his compassion for the community will never be forgotten. He leaves behind wife Shannon and son Matthew.
Members of the public who wish to honor Officer LaPorta are encouraged to line the procession route and attend public services. Flags will be flown at half-staff in his memory.
The Uxbridge Police Department respectfully asks that the privacy of Officer LaPorta’s family be honored during this difficult time.
