Kathleen A LaFlamme, 73 years old, of Franklin, passed away on February 3, 2026.

Born on January 12, 1953, she was the daughter of an Air Force military family. It allowed her to move throughout the US and explore the country.

During that time, Kathleen went to seven schools, from K1 through K12. In college, she studied law and graduated in 1981. Her love of travel also brought her to the UK, where she made a lifelong friend in Scotland.

In 1967, while living in Michigan, Kathleen joined the Future Farmers of America. She was the first and only girl in the chapter, where she received her Greenhand Pin.

Kathleen came from a musical family and learned to love the arts at a young age. She loved ballet, dancing from the age of 4 to 16, and musical theatre. She also loved woodworking, reading, and creative projects.

Her greatest love and gift in life was her daughter, Sara, who was born in China in 1991. The adoption trip was a once in a lifetime adventure where she also made incredible friends and memories.

Kathleen’s mantra was “There is always a way”. She had a joyous, optimistic nature and a gift for storytelling. She was known to bring a smile to your face and put a positive spin on any situation.

She is survived by her brother, James, who lives on the Cape, her daughter, Sara, who lives in Brooklyn, NY, and her companion bird, Piper, who will live with Sara in New York.

No memorial service is planned.

Burial will be at the Union Street Cemetery.
