Franklin Ranked Among Gayest Towns In Mass.

According to a study recently published by HomeSnacks.com, and organization that "presents recent data from the Census, FBI, OpenStreetMaps, and dozens
of other sources into presentable rankings to help you understand what
it’s like to live in communities across the country," the Town of Franklin ranks in the top 50 gayest communities to live in the Bay State.

Report author Chris Kolmar, one of the cofounders of the site, which primarily aims to serve the real estate industry, the rankings were developed with "Saturday Night Science" -- a research quality standard developed by the organization for its own use.

With plenty of competition from the likes of Northampton, which came out on top with 2.8 percent gay households (rephrased in the tabular data as LGBTQ households), second-ranked Salem (2.3 percent) and number three Waltham, (2.2 percent), Franklin still managed to place #36 (0.9 percent), coming out just ahead of New Bedford.

Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, HomeSnacks says its brands have had more than 100 million unique visitors since 2015. This was the 11th time the organization has rated gayest places in Massachusetts.

A study by a different organization, looking only at federal data, ranked Franklin 77th highest for same-sex couple households back in 2020.
