MEDWAY:Barbara Ann Grillo

Barbara (Schiavo) Grillo, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Born in Milford on August 30, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Angelina (Tessicini) Schiavo and was raised in her hometown. Barbara was the loving wife for 47 years to the late Richard A. Grillo who passed away in 2004.

They moved to New Jersey, living in South Plainfield and Clinton. In 2014, Barbara returned to Massachusetts and settled in Medway with her daughter and son-in-law.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Laurie Insel, and husband, Jim, of Medway, her son, Richard Grillo, and husband, Michael Gassaway, of San Diego, California; her granddaughters, Ashley Ruggeri and husband, James, of Ashland, Erica Hooper and husband, James, of Clinton, and Jamie Insel of Danvers; and her great-grandson, Albie Ruggeri. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth, who died at birth in 1975.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 6th at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 5 East Main Street, Milford, Massachusetts, followed by a private burial.
