Sunrise Montessori School students have fun with sewing project

Maria Montessori described the power of practical skills and fine motor development through sewing. She is frequently quoted as saying "the hand is the instrument of the mind….."

This past week, Sunrise Montessori preschool and kindergarten students finished up their pillow project with Ms. Karen. The children enjoyed picking their own fabric, sewing, and stuffing their fleece pillows. Sunrise is fortunate to have a quilter and sewing teacher! Thank you to Ms. Karen for planning and preparing this practical life activity.
