Ethel R. (Morrisey) Pizzi, 101, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Pizzi, who passed in 2000.

Ethel was born to the late Edward and Edna (Berry) Morrisey on December 24, 1920. She was educated in the Franklin school system.

Prior to retirement, Ethel worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Benny’s Oil Co, and Franklin Furniture.

Her favorite pastimes were reading, completing crossword puzzles and word searches. She was an avid bowler for many years at Ficco’s Bowladrome, and her Tuesday night card games were legendary!

Ethel is survived by her children William J. Pizzi, Jr. and his wife Annie, Rosemary Pidgeon and the late Brian Pidgeon, and her brother Lawrence and the late Margaret Morrisey of NY. She was a devoted grandmother to five, and great grandmother to seven. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Morrisey, Mabel Fair and Melda Marcoulier.

The family would like to thank Robert Pidgeon (grandson) and his wife Beth Pidgeon, who were Ethel’s primary caregivers for over a decade and made it possible for her to remain in her beloved home.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday August 4th at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.

Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 3, from 3-6 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Franklin Food Pantry.
