Last week, longtime TV and radio personality Jim Braude had choice words on GBH's Greater Boston about Diana DiZoglio's stance when it comes to debating Anthony Amore in the race for State Auditor. Braude said DiZoglio, in the interest of fairness, would only debate if all five candidates for Auditor are present.
“Trust me, this isn’t about fairness to all,” Braude said last Monday night. “It’s about ensuring her Republican opponent, Anthony Amore, has as little air time to make his case as possible.” (GBH, 9/20/22)
In an interview last night, DiZoglio even suggested that third-party candidates should be allowed to call into debates if they don't want to appear in-person. (WBSM, 9/20/22)
Meanwhile, also last week, Boston Globe columnist, Jeff Jacoby, went on record suggesting that Amore's strong professional background make him "ideally qualified." He also suggested the entire state government is going to be "a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party," should DiZoglio prevail.
"Diana DiZoglio can't run on experience and lately she's adopted Anthony Amore's positions, so why should she show courage when it comes to debating? She is bending over backwards to build a wall between herself and Anthony. Anthony has maintained he will debate all candidates, but if media outlets would prefer a one-on-one debate with Diana, he will be there too. It speaks volumes that Diana's campaign doesn't have the same confidence in her abilities," said Mark Steffen, Amore 2022 campaign manager.
