John “Jack” L. Daddario, Sr. beloved husband of Marie (DeGrazia) Daddario passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 15th after a battle with declining health. Jack was born in Franklin, MA on February 12, 1936, son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Elda (Scatolini) Daddario.
Jack was educated in Franklin public schools and was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1953. He maintained strong lifelong friendships with his classmates, known as the “dizzy dozen”, to this day.
He was a graduate of Dean Academy (College) in 1955 and in recent years was presented the Dean College Outstanding Alumnus award.
After college, Jack served proudly as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves.
Jack was an established businessman in the area his entire career. He owned J.D. Daddario Co., Inc. in Franklin, a successful pluming/electrical wholesale and retail operation servicing eastern Massachusetts from the early 1950’s through mid-2000 and also co-owner of Franklin’s Silver’s Health and Fitness Center in the 1990’s.
He also served 38 years as a director of Dean Bank in Franklin from 1972 until his retirement in 2011.
Jack has proven to be a strong community leader being a member of many local organizations and contributing to programs to benefit the town of Franklin and surrounding communities. A few organizations that he held close were Friends of Franklin, Franklin Food Pantry, St. Rocco’s, St. Anthony Society, Knights of Columbus, United Chamber of Commerce, and many youth sports and organizations.
He also promoted excellence in community medical care with support to Milford Regional Medical Center and also Lahey Hospital and Medical Center.
Jack was a devoted husband to his wife Marie of 63 years and a generous and loving father to his children Diane Daddario and her husband John Jardine, Jack Daddario, Jr and his wife Carol, Donna MacKay and her husband Keith, Debbie Gillespie and her husband Michael, James Daddario and his wife Susan, and Dina Fairweather, all of Franklin MA.
Jack is also survived by 16 grandchildren Nicole, Jenna, Sarah, Keith Jr., Katie, Kevin, Jimmy Jr., Jeffrey, Julia, Anna, Abby, Jack, Grace, Michael Jr., Maggie and Ellie. He also leaves behind two great grandsons, Leo and Luke.
He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Daddario, Jr and his sister Jean Taddeo.
Jack’s service and interment will be held privately.
