Police Reports February 26 – March 4

Here is a list of the notable events from the past week
Note: Some incidents may have been omitted to preserve victims of certain crimes and ongoing investigations. Some addresses may not be specified but instead referred to by their street name. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

2/26/2023
Suspicious Activity
529 West Central Street Midas
On Sunday, 2/26/2023 at approximately 10:12 am Officers responded to Midas for a report of suspicious activity. Midas was closed but it was reported an individual was walking around the business storage containers. Officers spoke to the individual and they were trespassed from the property.

Motor Vehicle Crash
Florence Street @ Summer Street
On Sunday, 2/26/2023 at approximately 2:50 pm Officers responded to Florence Street at Summer Street for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Two parties were transported to the hospital and a crash report was completed.

Well-Being Check
Franklin
On Sunday, 2/26/2023 at approximately 3:15 pm an Officer took a walk-in station report requesting a well-being check on a person making concerning statements. Officers spoke with the individual in question, and they were transported to the hospital on a Section 12.

Suspicious Activity
Independence Way
On Sunday, 2/26/2023 at approximately 11:00 pm Officers responded to the Independence Way apartments for a report that there was an active catalytic converter theft taking place. Officers arrived and determined a converter was removed from a parked vehicle. An investigation was opened.

Civil Dispute
Woodview Way
On Sunday, 2/26/2023 at approximately 11:03 pm an Officer took a report of a civil dispute involving a rented dirt bike. All parties were referred to Wrentham District Court.

2/27/2023
Suspicious Activity
300 Financial Park
On Monday, 2/27/2023 at approximately 2:39 pm Officers responded to 300 Financial Park for a report of suspicious activity. Workers on scene found what they believed to be discarded narcotics in a trash barrel. An investigation was opened.

2/28/2023
Fraud
Dean Avenue
On Tuesday, 2/28/2023 at approximately 9:56 am an Officer took a report of fraud from a residence of Dean Avenue. The individual reported multiple credit cards were opened using their information, but the cards were flagged as fraudulent. A report was generated.

Fraud
Miller Street
On Tuesday, 2/28/2023 at approximately 11:05 am an Officer took a report of fraud from a residence of Miller Street. The individual reported a checking account was opened using their information. An investigation was opened.

Warrant Arrest
Horace Mann Plaza
On Tuesday, 2/28/2023 at approximately 2:39 pm an Officer was conducting a check of the Horace Mann Plaza when they observed a male, they knew to have had an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and James Hosford, a 62-year-old Franklin resident was arrested.

Fraud
Oak View Terrace
On Tuesday, 2/28/2023 at approximately 6:36 pm an Officer took a report of identity fraud from a resident of Oak View Terrace. It was reported unemployment benefits were opened using the reporting party’s information. An investigation was opened.

3/1/2023
Larceny
300 Financial Park
On Wednesday, 3/1/2023 at approximately 9:06 am Officers responded to 300 Financial Park for a larceny. A wireless speaker was stolen from an employee during working hours. An investigation was opened.


Fraud

Glen Meadow Road
On Wednesday, 3/1/2023 at approximately 4:04 pm an Officer took a report of fraud from a resident of Glen Meadow. It was reported the victim received a scam phone call from the United States Border Patrol. They reported a large package of drugs with the victim’s name on it was seized at the border. To get out of an arrest warrant the victim had to send money to a US Marshall. In total, $27,000 was transferred as part of a scam through bitcoin. An investigation was opened.

3/2/2023
On Thursday, 3/2/2023 at approximately 10:11 am Officers responded to Longwalk Road and Mulberry Lane for a report of vandalism. Multiple lamp posts were spray painted. A request was made to the Franklin DPW to have the spray paint removed.

Motor Vehicle Crash
411 West Central Street Vendetti’s
On Thursday, 3/2/2023 at approximately 5:09 pm Officers responded to the Vendetti’s parking lot for a report of a two-car motor vehicle crash. A vehicle was leaving the Vendetti’s parking lot when another vehicle struck it on West Central Street. There were no reported injuries, and a crash report was completed.

3/3/2023
Motor Vehicle Crash
Franklin Village Mall
On Friday, 3/3/2023 at approximately 10:32 am Officers responded to the Franklin Village Mall for a two-car motor vehicle crash. There were no reported injuries, and one vehicle was towed. A crash report was completed.

Threats
Pine Knoll Road
On Friday, 3/3/2023 at approximately 6:58 pm an Officer took a report from a resident of Pine Knoll Road of threats. The reporting party stated there were being blackmailed after sending pictures to a person they did not know on Snapchat. The anonymous person was demanding money in exchange for not posting the original pictures. An investigation was opened.

Lost Property
Echo Bridge Road
On Friday, 3/3/2023 at approximately 8:01 pm an Officer took a report of lost property. The reporting party claimed they lost their iwatch and through a tracking program they were able to ping it to a residence in Franklin earlier in. the day. After speaking with an Officer, the victim found the lost watch in their vehicle, and it was determined the watch was pinging in a certain area earlier because they drove by the residence while picking up pizza.

3/4/2023
Motor Vehicle Crash
5 Elm Street

On Saturday, 3/4/2023 at approximately 9:45 am Officers responded to 5 Elm Street fora single motor vehicle crash. A car crashed into a telephone pole. The car was towed and there were no reported injuries. A crash report was completed.

Well-Being Check
Franklin
On Saturday, 3/4/2023 at approximately 2:37 pm Officers responded to a well-being check of a person sleeping on a bench in town. Officers located the individual and after an investigation they were transported to the hospital under a Section 12.

Disorderly Disturbance
345 East Central McDonalds
On Saturday, 3/4/2023 at approximately 5:44 pm Officers responded to the McDonalds for a report of a disturbance. It was reported parties were yelling at each other in thedrive through line and one party was shining laser at another. Officers spoke to all parties involved. A report was generated.
