Here is a list of the notable events from the past week

Note: Some incidents may have been omitted to preserve victims of certain crimes and ongoing investigations.

Some addresses may not be specified but instead referred to by their street name. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

3/5/2023

Neighbor Dispute

Independence Way

On Sunday, 3/5/2023 at approximately 1:37 pm Officers responded to the Independence Way apartments for a report of a neighbor dispute. The reporting party claimed a neighbor keeps knocking on their door. Services were provided.

Civil Dispute

Cross Street

On Sunday, 3/5/2023 at approximately 7:16 pm Officers responded to a residence on Cross Street for a suspicious tenant entering a residence. It was determined the issue was a civil matter and the reporting party was referred to their landlord.

3/6/2023

Motor Vehicle Hit & Run

Washington Street @ Townline Road

On Monday, 3/6/2023 at approximately 12:34 am Officers responded to Washington Street at Townline Road for a motor vehicle hit and run. The reporting party stated they were driving into town on Washington Street when they were rear ended by a plow truck. The truck did not stop and left the area. There were no reported injuries, and an investigation was opened.

Disabled Motor Vehicle

King Street @ Union Street

On Monday, 3/6/2023 at approximately 7:10 am Officers responded to the intersection of King Street and Union Street for a disabled box truck blocking the intersection. After a brief investigation the vehicle was towed and the operator, a 35-year-old Ashlandresident was charged with:

  • Unregistered Motor Vehicle
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License

Vandalism

Fletcher’s Field

On Monday, 3/6/2023 at approximately 12:56 pm Officers responded to Fletcher’s Field for a report of vandalism. The snack shack was vandalized with graffiti. A request to have the graffiti removed was placed with the DPW.

Sudden Death Investigation

Crossfield Road

On Monday, 3/6/2023 at approximately 1:00 pm Officers responded to a residence on Crossfield Road for a sudden death investigation.

3/7/2023

Section 35 Service

Franklin

On Tuesday, 3/7/2023 at approximately 11:03 am Officers responded to a residence in Franklin to serve a Section 35 issued by the Wrentham District Court. The individual was located and transported to Court.

Motor Vehicle Crash

High Ridge Circle

On Tuesday, 3/7/2023 at approximately 9:13 pm Officers responded to High Ridge Circle for a report of a motor vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle crashed into a parked car on the side of the road. There were no reported injuries. Both vehicles weretowed, and a crash report was completed.

3/8/2023

Motor Vehicle Hit & Run

835 Upper Union Street Best Western Hotel

On Wednesday, 3/8/2023 at approximately 7:57 am Officers responded to the parking lot of the Best Western for a report of a past motor vehicle hit and run. It was reported the vehicle was hit overnight in the parking lot. An investigation was opened.

Fraud

231 East Central Street Rockland Trust

On Wednesday, 3/8/2023 at approximately 11:39 am Officers responded to the Rockland Trust Bank for a report of a female trying to withdraw funds using a stolen ID and debit card. The female was believed to be a member of the “felony lane gang.” The vehicle left the bank prior to officers’ arrival and fled the area on 495. No money was taken as the bank teller realized the card was reported stolen. An investigation was opened.

3/9/2023

Motor Vehicle Crash

783 King Street

On Thursday, 3/9/2023 at approximately 6:32 am Officers responded to 783 King Street for a report of a single motor vehicle crash involving damage to a telephone pole. There were no reported injuries, and a crash investigation was completed.

Larceny

490 King Street Dunkin Donuts

On Thursday, 3/9/2023 at approximately 8:16 am Officers responded to the Dunkin Donuts on King Street for a past larceny. It was reported a patron left their wallet in the store and returned when they realized it was missing. They got their wallet back, but a large amount of money was missing from the wallet. After a brief investigation officers identified who took the money. The victim did not wish to pursue charges but rather just get their money back. Officers were able to return the victim’s money without incident.

Motor Vehicle Violation

121 Pond Street

On Thursday, 3/9/2023 at approximately 2:01 pm an Officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of 121 Pond Street when they observed a motor vehicle violation. After a brief investigation, the operator of the vehicle, a 34-year-old Medway resident was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License 

Fraud

Partridge Street

On Thursday, 3/9/2023 at approximately 4:33 pm an Officer took a report from a resident of Partridge Street regarding fraud. A Small Business Administration loan was opened using the victim’s information. An investigation was opened.

3/10/2023

Fraud

Forge Parkway

On Friday, 3/10/2023 at approximately 10:38 am Officers responded to a business on Forge Parkway for a report of fraud. It was reported over $100,000 of forklifts/jacks were fraudulently purchased and shipped elsewhere in the country. An investigation was opened.

Motor Vehicle

Crash

West Central Street @ Grove Street

On Friday, 3/10/2023 at approximately 6:20 pm Officers responded to West Central Street at Grove Street for a two-car crash. There were no reported injuries, and a crash report was completed.

3/11/2023

Larceny

400 East Central Street Planet Chrysler

On Saturday, 3/11/2023 at approximately 6:57 am an Officer discovered a larceny from a vehicle at Planet Chrysler. The wheels were removed overnight. An investigation was opened.

Motor Vehicle Crash

28 West Central Street Santa Fe

On Saturday, 3/11/2023 at approximately 2:56 pm Officers responded to Santa Fe for a single motor vehicle crash into a building. A vehicle crashed into the gas meter on the side of the building. Eversource responded to the scene.
