Memorial Day Activities in Franklin

Monday, May 29, 10:30 am. Memorial Day Parade. The parade starts at Dean College, then proceeds to Union Street and St. Mary's Cemeteries via School, West Central and Beaver Streets and concludes at the Town Common.

Monday, May 29 at 12:00 noon. Memorial Day Ceremony. The ceremony will be held on the Town Common by the War Memorial after the parade. Franklin Veterans who have passed since last Memorial Day, as well as Franklin's 45 fallen heroes wo died in our nation's combats will be recognized. Note: If it rains on May 29, please check the Veterans' Services web page for cancellation notice.

Monday, May 29 at 3:00 pm. Local bugler Tim O’Toole will be performing taps on the Common as part of Taps Across America and in conjunction with the national moment of silence to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

And, Ahead of Memorial Day Weekend...

Governor Maura Healey, joined by Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and Secretary Jon Santiago, a d signed Executive Order #613, creating the Governor’s Advisory Council on Veterans' Services to inform the Governor about veterans' issues in Massachusetts. The Council will complement the work that Secretary Santiago and the recently elevated Executive Office of Veterans; Services are doing to assess current programs, services, and regulations for veterans and make recommendations to the Governor.
