Here is a list of the notable events from the past week

Note: Some incidents may have been omitted to preserve victims of certain crimes and ongoing investigations.

Some addresses may not be specified but instead referred to by their street name. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

6/4/2023

Motor Vehicle Hit & Run

Marvin Avenue

On Sunday, 6/4/2023 at approximately 1:40 am Officers responded to a residence on Marvin Avenue for a report of a hit and run. A vehicle struck a parked vehicle and fled the area.

Sudden Death Investigation

East Central Street

On Sunday, 6/4/2023 at approximately 10:32 am Officers responded to a residence on East Central Street for a sudden death investigation.

Motor Vehicle Violation

East Central Street

On Sunday, 6/4/2023 at approximately 2:29 pm an Officer was conducting traffic enforcement on East Central Street when they observed a motor vehicle violation. The vehicle was stopped and after an investigation, a 24-year-old Franklin, MA resident received a summons for:

-Attaching plates

-Operating an uninsured motor vehicle

-Operating an unregistered motor vehicle

6/5/2023

Motor Vehicle Crash

Vine Street

On Monday, 6/5/2023 at approximately 7:24 am Officers responded to Vine Street at Rona Lane for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. Both operators were transported to the hospital and a crash report was completed.

Suspicious Activity/Protective Custody

Earl’s Way

On Monday, 6/5/2023 at approximately 12:08 pm Officers responded to Earl’s Way for a report of a man acting strange at a business at Earl’s Way. Officers located the man, and he was ultimately placed in protective custody.

Motor Vehicle Crash

30 East Central Street

On Monday, 6/5/2023 at approximately 3:27 pm Officers responded to East Central Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash. It was determined an involved vehicle left the scene prior to police arrival. Officers located the involved vehicle and a 64-year-old Franklin, MA resident was charged with:

-Leaving the scene of property damage

-Failure to stop/yield

Motor Vehicle Crash

Oak Street

On Monday, 6/5/2023 at approximately 7:50 pm Officers responded to the front lot of the Franklin High School for a minor two-car crash. There were no reported injuries, and a crash report was completed.

6/6/2023

Fraud

Auburn Drive

On Tuesday, 6/6/2023 at approximately 8:11 am an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Auburn Drive. Unemployment benefits were opened using the victim’s information. A report was generated.

6/7/2023

Motor Vehicle Crash

Prospect Street

On Wednesday, 6/7/2023 at approximately 2:57 pm Officers responded to Prospect Street for a report of a single motor vehicle crash into a mailbox. After an investigation the operator of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Medway, MA resident received a summons for:

-Marked lanes violation

-Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license

Fraud

Union Street

On Wednesday, 6/7/2023 at approximately 3:45 pm an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Union Street. A Bank of America account was opened using the victim’s information.

Suspicious Activity

500 Lincoln Street

On Friday, 6/9/2023 at approximately 4:12 pm Officers responded to the Keller Sullivan School for a report that a car window was smashed while the vehicle was left unattended. After reviewing camera footage, it was determined a landscape crew was most likely responsible for the damage while mowing the nearby lawn.

Shoplifting

Corporate Drive – BJ’s

On Friday, 6/9/2023 at approximately 9:32 pm Officers responded to the BJ’s for an attempted shoplifting. Two men tried leaving the store with a sound bar and vacuum but left the items when asked about them. They left the store immediately after. An investigation was opened.

6/10/2023

Motor Vehicle Crash

East Central Street

On Saturday, 6/10/2023 at approximately 8:04 pm Officers responded to East Central Street for a report of a two-car crash. One party was transported to the hospital and both cars were towed. A crash report was completed.
