MEDWAY: Lawrence P. “Lawrie” Bemis

Lawrence P. “Lawrie” Bemis, 95, of Medway, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen A. (Lynch) Bemis since 1960.

Born in Milford on August 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Wilson) Bemis.

Lawrie was a lifelong resident of Medway and graduated from the former Brandeis Vocational High School in Boston. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for 8 years.

Before his retirement, Lawrie worked for the Medway Housing Authority and had previously worked at the former Dow Chemical in Natick. He had also owned a flooring business for many years with his brother Harold.

In his free time, Lawrie enjoyed restoring antiques.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his niece Diane Booher and her husband Mark, and many additional nieces and nephews.

Lawrie was predeceased by his siblings John, Madeline, Dorothy and Harold.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to their extraordinary caregiver and homemaker, Tricia Dixon.

At the request of his family, services will take place privately with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Lawrie’s memory to the Salvation Army, 29 Congress St, Milford, MA 01757.
