George A. Hodgson, 82, of Woonsocket, died June 20, 2023 in his home. He was the son of the late Albert and Marguerite (Phillips) Hodgson.
George was a graduate of Brewster Academy, Wolfboro, NH, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Nasson College, Springvale, ME, and his Master's in Education from Rhode Island College. He worked for Franklin Junior High School, Franklin, MA as a history teacher for 29 years. George was a member of St. James Episcopal Church; the Morningstar Lodge #13 Masons, where he served as past Master, the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of RI, and the Knight's Templar, Pawtucket; the Shriner's; and the retired MA State, County, and Municipality Employee Association.
He leaves his sister, Christine E. Hodgson, with whom he lived; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dean D. and Phillip A. Hodgson.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, beginning with visitation from 9:30 - 10:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a service at 11 AM in St. James Episcopal Church, 24 Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woonsocket Freemasons Morningstar Lodge #13, 142 Clinton Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
