According to New England Fire News there was a large brush fire late in the afternoon on Monday, July 31 in the conservation area near 889 Lincoln Street
Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment
Also from New England Fire News, around 9:30 PM on Tuesday, Aug. 1, there was a serious motor vehicle accident at Washington Street and Byrons Way. Franklin Fire and Police responded. A single vehicle was involved and had gone off the road. An unconscious individual was extricated and transported by ambulance.

Pan Mass Challenge riders came through town on Saturday, between 7am-noon (roughly. Franklin detail officers assisted with traffic at Washington Street at Prospect Street as well as Harrison Place at Vine Street. There was a rest stop for riders at Remington-Jefferson school.

On Friday, Aug. 4, Franklin Post 75 American Legion baseball lost to a New York team in the bottom of the 7th inning. Final score was 5-4. Their season is now officially over.
