We are grateful to Sarah Cronin, Treasurer, of The Franklin Cultural Council for sharing an update of thire Monday night meeting....
It was a smaller group on Monday night (5 out of our 8 members) - not everyone is back from their summer adventures yet. So no elections took place and we do not yet have a chair.
But, we did have a quorum, so we met to discuss and approve our grant application guidelines and priorities for FY24. We also reviewed the timeline for the grant process:
- Applications open September 1st
- Application deadline is October 17th
- We use our November and December meetings to discuss all grant applications, and vote to fully approve, partially approve, or deny each one. Last year, we received 53 applications.
- Denial letters must be sent by December 30th.
- The Grant Decision Report (a.k.a. Annual Report) is due to the MCC by January 17, 2024. Grant awardees must also be notified by this date.

We are also so pleased to welcome 3 new members to the Council: John Ristaino, Jean Wolf, and Carol Fletcher.
As of right now, all members from last year will be returning to the Council this year: Sarah Cronin (Treasurer), Brianna Cummings (Secretary), Lauren Sanford, Swati Rao and Pushpa Jangareddi.
