As a joint project between New England Chapel and Franklin United Methodist Church, wee are asking for gently used or new coats to be dropped off at one of three locations Franklin United Methodist Church, Franklin’s Main Fire Station, or the Hockomock YMCA between now and Saturday, December 7, 2024. All coats will be sorted and we plan to hold a free coat giveaway at the Community Closet at the Franklin United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. MBTA Law Facing Repeal in Needham
The residents group seeking to repeal Town Meeting’s Oct. 21 vote to bring Needham into compliance with the MBTA Communities Law via the Neighborhood Plan has obtained the required number of signatures to hold a townwide special election in January to revisit the issue. According to the Needham Observer, Town Clerk Louise Miller said they still had about 100 pages of signatures, but they have stopped the certification process…
UMass Memorial Doc Disciplined
The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine took disciplinary action against the medical licenses of Louise P. Lu, M.D. The Board reprimanded Dr. Louise P. Lu’s medical license after she agreed, in a Consent Order, that she had rendered substandard care when monitoring and managing anesthesia for a patient. Dr. Lu is board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Medical Specialties. She has been licensed in the Commonwealth since June 29, 1988. Dr. Lu practices medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
