Spotted Saturday: Still Mourning

Above, a car and bumper sticker memorializing the late DeAndre Akeem Scott, FHS class of 2012.  De Andre was born on August 31, 1994 in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, the son of Carline Scott. He attended Dean College and had worked as a union carpenter prior to his shooting death in Franklin in 2020. The owner of the car, a friend of De Andre, `still misses him' but says sufficient funds were finally raised to provide a headstone for the man.

Construction Accident Med-flight

According to multiple media reports, an individual was badly hurt in a construction accident at a Washington Street home on Thursday. He or she  was med-flighted to a hospital in Providence.

If you have to get somewhere this Labor Day, plan on a little extra time. AAA said flight bookings for the weekend were up 4 percent and stable gas prices might encourage more travel by car. If you are looking for local options there will be no GATRA services on Monday, September 4th, 2023 in honor of the holiday. And the MBTA Commuter Rail is running – but on a Saturday schedule.

Monday, operations at a town facility were hampered by the discovery of a substantial amount of human feces deposited on a rug and stairway. Caution tape was deployed and facilities experts summoned to rescue the situation. Responsible party remains at large.
