Housing Trust Holds Brief Meeting

Shy of a quorum, Franklin’s Municipal Affordable Housing Trust met briefly in an informal Zoom session on Tuesday morning under the gavel of vice chair, Susan Younis.

Clerk Maxine Kinhart provided a general update regarding an ongoing effort to comply with state law and make sure the heirs of a deeded affordable home in Franklin take the necessary steps to ensure its retention as part of the town’s affordable housing stock. Kinhart said a third party had tried to “make an end run” around the process and around the town.

Other matters discussed briefly were the Franklin Ridge project, upcoming grant rounds, and a non-affordable project being promoted by a local developer as a way to enhance the town’s housing stock. Younis suggested that project wasn’t an appropriate activity for the Trust to be involved with.

A few minutes later, Town Administrator Hellen joined and Younis noted that his presence still didn’t make for a quorum. With no quorum, at that point, the meeting was adjourned.
