Sharon Ann (Stirzaker) Valentine, 63, of Franklin, died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Valentine for the past 30 years.

Born in Norwood on March 16, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Masce) Stirzaker.

Sharon was a lifelong resident of Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1978.

She was most recently employed as a lunch lady for Franklin Public Schools, where she met lifelong friends and was adored by all the kids. For many years, she worked as a waitress at the Table For Two restaurant in Plainville. The most fulfilling part of her life was being the daycare provider for her two nieces and granddaughter throughout all of their childhoods.

Sharon loved her family and friends fiercely and was a true guardian of those in her life. During moments of downtime, she enjoyed watching HGTV or British television with her dog Buddy and a glass of wine. She enjoyed celebrating and decorating for every holiday, especially Christmas when she would transform the house into a true winter wonderland. Her favorite weekend activity was visiting different wineries, craft fairs, and antique shops with her husband Joe.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Erron Geer and his wife Devoni of Walpole, her daughter Jessica Valentine and her partner Eric of Franklin, her late step-daughter Kim Valentine, her step-son Joey Valentine and his wife Lindsay of New Hampshire, and her grandchildren Gaby, Allie, Andrew, Raiden, Serena, Luke, and Violet.

She is survived by her siblings Susan Stuart and her husband Jack of Bellingham, Mary Lemmler and her husband Craig of Medway, Anne Marolda and her partner Erik of Medway, Mike Stirzaker of Franklin, beloved nieces Rachael and Sarah Lemmler, best friend Patti Hauck, close family-friend Jill Johnson, cherished sister-in-law Debi Clark Valentine, along with Joe’s mother, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

A celebration of life for Sharon will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891.
