Monday afternoon, the Franklin Police Department issued another update on the missing 15-year-old, found safe over the weekend, providing some additional details on what is known about her disappearance:

Jazlyn Rodrigues, a 15-year-old Franklin, MA resident who has been missing since October 10 th was found safe on October 21 st . She has been reunited with family.

Based upon our investigation, it appears that Jazlyn left her residence on October 10, 2023 on her own free will as a run-away. Based on a tip, she was found at a residence in Hopkinton, MA on October 21, 2023. It appears that Jazlyn had adult assistance throughout the entirety of her disappearance and nothing indicates that she was abducted or kept against her will.

Detectives are still investigating and charges may be filed at a later date for those who assisted in harboring or assisting her.

The Franklin Police Department would like to thank the community and the following agencies for their assistance during this investigation:

  • Hopkinton Police Department
  • Mansfield Police Department, and,
  • New England State Police Information Network (NESPIN)

It turns out the NESPIN, which serves Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, as well as parts of Canada, is actually based in Franklin. Deputy Police Chief Jim Mill, said the agency has been very helpful to the Franklin PD.

NESPIN, founded in 1979, was among the first members of the Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Program that assists local, state, federal, and tribal criminal justice partners “by providing adaptive solutions and services that facilitate information sharing, support criminal investigations, and promote officer safety. RISS has been supporting the law enforcement and criminal justice communities for 50 years.”
