With the town counting down to its Tuesday municipal election, Town Councilor Cobi Frongillo led a full quorum of the Community Services, Facilities, and Circulation Subcommittee of the Master Plan Committee on a command performance review of most of the town’s municipal departments Sunday morning, starting at 9 AM at the Horace Mann Middle School. The four members of the subcommittee were joined by two or three members of the public and two representatives of Franklin TV who were filming the whole event, slated to run through midday.
At Horace Mann, Superintendent Lucas Giguere, one of a number of town employees going the extra mile for Cobi’s committee, gave an impromptu review of the school department’s mission, infrastructure and operational challenges and then fielded questions from the subcommittee and public. That segment lasted about 30 minutes and ended with the committee bicycling to visit Franklin's “streets, schools, public works, emergency services and library.”
The Master Plan Committee has established five subcommittees consisting of members of the Master Plan. Each subcommittee has a Chairperson. The subcommittees will post their public meetings on the subcommittee web page.
In addition to the Community Services, Facilities, & Circulation subcommittee, there are also four other subcommittees:
Land Use & Zoning
Housing & Economics
Sustainability
Open Space & Recreation and Natural, Cultural, & Historic Resources
