Design Review Approves 4 Sign Packages

In its meeting last week (Tuesday, the 14th) the Design Review Commission met via Zoom and dealt swiftly with four applicants, and approved all – with conditions.

First up was Aura Salon at 70 East Central Street, where the applicants sought to replace existing signs. Aura Salon was represented by Cam Alfonso, of Signs by Cam. There were a few questions for example regarding whether the signs were lighted and regarding the dimension of door decals. Paul Lopez proposed to approve the sign package and was seconded, followed by a unanimous vote

AER at 76 Grove Street sought to install new faces, awning, and wall sign and Franklin Kitchen Center, located at 22 East Central Street, sought to install sign and awning. Both packages were approved.

Finally, at the Franklin Village Plaza at 250 Franklin Village Drive, the applicant sought to replace two mall directories with identical signs. In this case the Commission reviewed the proposal and noted that the signs predated the town’s sign bylaw and since there was no real change, just replacing worn materials, the approval was a mere technicality.
