Edward J Wenger (92), most recently of Summerville SC. Ed had spent most of his life in Franklin MA.
Born to the late Edward and Ella (Brehio) on February 4, 1931 in Boston MA. He was married to the late Joan Marie (Donahue) for 38 years.
Ed, best known to his family and close friends as Puppy, loved spending time with his family and friends, watching his grandchildren play sports for Franklin High School and would frequently be seen at the football and baseball fields as well as the FHS gym cheering on the teams.
Ed was a US Army veteran serving his country honorably while stationed in Germany. After serving his country, Ed spent more than 40 years as a Conductor for Amtrak on the commuter rail. After his retirement from Amtrak, Ed worked for Accent Limousine for a decade providing early morning car service to and from Logan Airport.
Ed and his late wife loved to vacation in Aruba and considered Aruba as his home away from home.
Ed is survived by his son John & his wife Nanci of Franklin, his son Tom of Franklin and his daughter Nancy Skidmore and her husband Mike of Summerville SC. Ed is also survived by his brother Lawrence Wenger of Canton as well as his Grandchildren Brendan Skidmore, Kyle Skidmore, Erin Skidmore, Kristen Wenger & Matthew Wenger and his great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, December 8 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 1:00p.m.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 8 from Noon – 1:00p.m.
