Continuing a theme built on the title of Dr. Martin Luther King's book,  "Where Do We Go from Here," students, faculty, Franklin residents, and others gathered at Dean College Wednesday evening to add hope and fervor to a week + of thought-provoking activities.

Opening remarks to delivered by President Ken Elmore. Most of the event was then carried forward by an ensemble of singers directed by Franklin resident, and Dean faculty member Anthony Trecek-King.

Music included songs of the Civil Rights era as well as a painful ode to Emmett Till.

There was also a shared reading in which the audience participated and participatory singing.

At the end, Elmore invited Franklin resident Jamele Adams to come up and, with a bit of musical backing, Adams then launched into an impromptu blizzard of words and emotions drawing together the threads of the evening and his own thoughts in a grand finale.

The college is also planning some additional Black History Month activities during February.
