The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism is joining forces with 71 Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont for the 14th Annual March “Month of Giving” campaign to support local charities. During the month of March, customers will have the option to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or donate $1, $3, or $5 when placing their order.

The Month of Giving campaign will culminate with Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 27, when local Jersey Mike’s restaurants will give 100 percent of the day’s sales – not just profit – to support the Flutie Foundation’s important mission of helping families and individuals in the autism community live life to the fullest.

“Jersey Mike’s is deeply committed to giving back, and our partnership will directly improve the lives of people with autism in local communities throughout New England,” said the Flutie Foundation’s Co-Founder, Doug Flutie. “This month, Jersey Mike’s delicious subs will nourish us, so that people with autism and their communities can flourish.”

This March, Jersey Mike’s hopes to exceed last year’s record-breaking national fundraising total of $21 million and help local charities striving to fulfill their missions and make a difference.

“I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 percent of sales – every penny – goes to help a great local cause,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old.

Since Month of Giving began in 2011, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $88 million for local charities.

About the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism

Former NFL Quarterback, Doug Flutie, and his wife Laurie started the Doug Flutie, Jr. Flutie Foundation for Autism in 1998 after their son, Dougie, was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Their personal experience of raising a son on the autism spectrum inspired them to help others on an equally long and challenging journey. Over its 25-year history, the Flutie Foundation has distributed over $25 million to schools and organizations who provide clinical therapies, respite services, recreational programs, social skills training, job supports and more for people affected by autism. The Flutie Foundation also provides education technology tools, adaptive camp scholarships, safety equipment, and direct family support through its partnerships and special initiatives.
