Marilyn Clare (Swift) Simon, 88, of Franklin, passed away peacefully at her home on March 11, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones, including her husband of 67 years, George Simon.

Born in Norwood, May 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late A. Franklin Swift, Jr. and Clare (Riley) Swift. She was a graduate of Norwood High School and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. After graduating college, she was an elementary school teacher in Connecticut and later spent many years working with her family at Simon’s Furniture.

Marilyn was active in the Franklin community. She was a member of the Franklin School Committee, the Franklin Historical Commission, the Fletcher Hospital Corporation and the Charles River Hadassah organization. Marilyn enjoyed traveling the world with George, but especially loved spending her winters at their home in Sint Maarten. When in Franklin, she enjoyed dining out with family and was friendly and sociable, making friends wherever she went.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her 5 children, Bret Simon, and his wife Pam, of Half Moon Bay, CA, Kirk Simon, and his wife Beth, of Franklin, Todd Simon and his wife, Jenni, of Palo Alto, CA, Marisa (Simon) Geromini and her husband, Chris, of Franklin, and Jessica (Simon) Medeiros and her husband, Jack, of Franklin. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Jared, Julia, Haley, Drew, Vince, Ben, Sophie, Jake and Penelope; a sister, Leslie (Swift) Morrissey, of Bourne; her sister-in-law, Nancy (Simon) Kaufman and her husband, Mervyn, of New York; and her nieces and nephews, Laura, Becky, Amy, Summer, Colby and Delio.

A heartfelt thank you to Phyllis Vozzella, who made Marilyn feel comfortable, loved and well fed, enabling her to stay in the home she loved for her final days.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14th at 1:30pm at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel in Canton with interment at Sharon Memorial Park. Friends and relatives are welcome to join the family at her late residence in Franklin, immediately following services.
