Image

Above, Krishna Swain, at the head of the table (with hands magnified above) instructed a class of 15 in the art of calligraphy at the Franklin Historical Museum. He returns Saturday, the 23rd from 11-12:30.

In his inaugural calligraphy class on Saturday, March 16, calligraphy expert, Krishna Swain, a Bellingham High School honors student, delivered a brief, authoritative history of writing and explained the evolution of handwriting and calligraphy.

He then led his enthusiastic participants in learning fundamental calligraphy and writing  strokes and how they are combined. The class continues and advances (newbies still welcome) on Saturday from 11-12:30. April dates for further classes are pending. All classes are free. If you expect to attend, please email Historical Commission Chair Alan Earls at alan.r.earls@gmail.com to ensure sufficient seats.
