Margaret “Peg” Simpson, 102, of Franklin, died Friday, May 17, 2024 after a brief illness; sister to the late William J. Simpson.

Born in Franklin on May 9, 1922, a daughter of the late Leon E. and Mary E. (Gillespie) Simpson, and a lifelong resident of Franklin.

Educated in Franklin, Peg first worked as a waitress at King Philip Ballroom where she met loads of celebrities including Tony Bennett and The Dorsey Brothers. Later, she worked for more than 40 years as an LPN at Wrentham State School. In her retirement, she worked as the Treasurer of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Parish in Franklin.

Generous of heart and spirit, Peg was forever sharing with her family and friends who loved her dearly. She will be forever in our hearts.

Margaret “Peg” Simpson is survived by her nephew Karl W. & his wife Maureen, her great-niece Becca, her great-nephew Erik, and her nephew Mark J. and his wife Wendy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday May 22nd, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.

Her interment at St. Mary's Cemetery will be held privately.

Calling hours are Tuesday May 21st, from 2-4PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul or St. Mary's Church 1 Church Square Franklin, MA 02038.
