John A. Allegrini, 78, of Perry St. passed away Mon. June 24, 2024 at Overlook Nursing and Rehab in Burrillville, RI after a long illness.

He is survived by a daughter Melissa Allegrini of Salem; his granddaughter, Casey L. Russavage and her husband Kurt of Douglas; a brother, Jerry Allegrini of Franklin; several cousins including Michael DiCecco and his wife Deborah of Millville; several friends and former coworkers. He was predeceased by his daughter Ginger Labonne on Aug. 18, 2023, and was brother of the late Domenic Allegrini. Born in Milford, MA on Feb. 20, 1946, he was the son of Gennaro and Mary (DiCecco) Allegrini. He was raised on Union St. in Franklin and lived in Douglas many years.

Mr. Allegrini worked as a supervisor for overhead transmission lines at New England Electric System for 37 years, retiring in 2004 from their Westboro office. He was also a longtime personal trainer, operating Feel Good Fitness out of his home. John lived a healthy lifestyle, belonged to many gyms, and was even runner up Mr. New England Bodybuilder. He was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School and was a U.S. Army Vietnam Conflict Veteran. A great cook, he was a family man who loved spending time with his daughters. An avid cyclist he also enjoyed travel.

His memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd from 4-6 pm in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Douglas.
