Help Us Create a Debate!

Franklin Observer wants to make sure voters get the information they need for November 5th (and for early voting starting in October). We are planning to sponsor a debate for our state representative race (and possibly other races on our ballot).

So, our question is, what topics would you like to see addressed in a debate between candidate and Army veteran Charles Bailey and incumbent State Representative Jeffrey Roy? Feel free to suggest additional topics below. We believe that a fair and honest debate focused on real voter issues is crucial, and we want your input! We aim to schedule a debate, if possible, in mid-September, either in Medway or Franklin.

Last year, the debate we sponsored among candidates for School Committee and Town Council sparked lively conversations between voters and candidates, and we hope to provide an equally productive forum this year. Some possible topics include:

  1. Migrant Housing/Shelters
  2. MBTA Zoning
  3. Veterans
  4. Senior Citizens
  5. Town Accountability and Town Overrides
  6. Voter ID
  7. Affordable Housing
  8. Beacon Hill Donating to Local Elections, PACs, and Ballot Committees
  9. Improving education
  10. Offshore wind and energy affordability

Please let us know which of these issues matters most to you and any other issues not listed above.

If you are curious about this election and would like to be involved, let us know!

Send via email to alan.r.earls@gmail.com with subject line DEBATE. Let's start a conversation!
