A Franklin woman is causing a summer sensation with the publication of her first mystery "Murder is Bad Press."  It is the first of three mystery books in a series Alice Judge has written. "I always loved mysteries," says Judge, "and this has it all. Mystery, suspense, humor and romance, and I'm pleased with the response to my first book. MURDER IS BAD PRESS."

Judge taught Creative Writing in the Adult Ed for seventeen years, she was newspaper correspondent and feature writer for many years, as well as writing in various other venues. "Murder is Bad Press" is available at Amazon.com.

The description from Amazon is as follows:

When twenty-six-year-old Allison Peters takes in a roommate, fellow employee Blaire Nugent and the roommate disappears the first night she covers a meeting for The Courier, the only daily newspaper in Sandy Ridge, Maine, Peters becomes embroiled in murder and intrigue. Where is her roommate? Why did she disappear? Peters suspects the roommate didn't have any journalism experience, so why did her editor Bill Shaw hire the woman? Shaw thinks the roommate found a “honey,” is shacking up, and will return eventually. Why then does Shaw act so strange when a young woman is found murdered in woods outside of town that police discover is the real Blaire Nugent? Who is Blaire Nugent to Shaw? And why did Peters' roommate take the dead woman's name? Peters knows she must find her roommate before another murder happens. As Peters gets closer to the truth, she realizes it might be her own. Alice Judge has written a suspenseful novel, full of mystery, laced with humor and romance. A real treat for mystery fans.
