Sewer Interceptor Construction Update for the Week of August 5

The DPW reports that Monday (8/5) - Friday (8/9) the construction crew will be working on Grove Street from Rt. 140 south towards the MBTA train tracks between the hours of 7am - 4pm. Traffic turning onto Grove Street from Rt. 140 will be detoured over to Beaver Street via Rt. 140. Please follow posted detour signs for directions.

On Monday 8/5 - West Central Street between Rt 140 and Pond Street (area behind Starbucks) a company will be testing the newly installed sewer mains. No traffic impacts are expected. At the Franklin Recreation Center on Beaver Street, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with installation of steel beam bracing on sheet piles.

Marie Louise (Ramaika) Jurchak, 94

According to a posting on the web site of Hamel, Lydon Chapel and Cremation Services of Quincy, Massachusetts, Jurchak passed away on July 23. No other information was posted.

Police Seek Fence Vandal

The Franklin Police Department are asking the public for information about a vehicle allegedly responsible for backing up into a fence at the high school. Police posted the video

MBTA Warns

On Saturday, August 17th & Sunday, August 18th, buses will replace regular weekend train service between Forge Park/495 and Walpole. This will allow for work on the Franklin Line Double Track Project.

New Ice Cream Spot Almost in Town
