Richard Emile Ferland, 81, of Franklin died August 6th at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. He was the husband of the late Judith E Ferland for the past 49 years.

Richard was born in Plainfield, NJ to Emile and Mary Ferland. He grew up in Woonsocket, RI before settling down in Franklin, MA.

Richard was a self-employed Master Electrician. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator since 1958 with the call sign KC1R.

Rick was a man of many interests including ham radio, railfanning, reading all about science and spending time with his dogs.

Richard is survived by his children, Bryan Ferland and his wife Jessica of Medfield and Alissa Raymond and her husband Robert of Brookfield, his grandchildren, Emma, Owen and Samuel, and his sister Carole Ferland, of Fall River, MA.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ferland.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 25 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Friends of Franklin Elders 10 Daniel McCahill Street, Franklin, MA 02038.
