Lisa Marie Vitello
Lisa Marie Vitello, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA.
Born in Boston on January 31, 1974 and raised in Franklin and Whitinsville, Lisa’s infectious spirit and boundless kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. The beloved daughter of James J. and Joyce M. Vitello of Whitinsville, Lisa grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and is survived by her brother, James A. Vitello and his wife Anne of southern Maine, and her sister, Vicky L. Vitello and her husband Charlie Ledbetter of upstate New York. Lisa’s extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews will fondly remember her bright smile and the warmth she brought to family gatherings. She is also survived by her partner, Michael R. Votto of Whitinsville. Lisa’s greatest love was her daughter, Summer Elise Votto of Whitinsville, who was the light of her life. Lisa devoted herself to creating a world for Summer filled with joyful moments, music, and special memories. They loved cooking, singing, dancing, and decorating together.
Lisa grew up dancing from age three, and her smile would light up the stage. A graduate of Whitinsville Christian School, Lisa’s intelligence and drive led her to study music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She then moved to New York City where she supported her musical and dance endeavors as a legal assistant. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as one of the founders of West Avenue Records, while simultaneously fronting bands as one of their lead singers. Her voice, a blend of power and tenderness, could soothe a troubled heart or invigorate the soul.
Lisa was known for her quick wit and tremendous memory, often sharing anecdotes that captured the essence of her experiences and the people she cherished. She loved to nurture the people she loved with homemade quilts, beautiful photography, and nourishing food. The ocean held a special place in Lisa’s heart, with Cape Cod and Maine being her sanctuaries.
She found solace in the rhythm of the waves and the vastness of the horizon. Lisa was a spiritual person with a faith that was as deep as the sea and as steady as the tides. Lisa’s kind and loving nature made her a friend to many. Her sense of humor was a gift that she generously shared, bringing laughter and lightness to even the most mundane moments. Those who knew Lisa will remember her for the funny stories, the shared secrets, and the unwavering support she offered with an open heart.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, Lisa’s legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate through the lives of those she touched. Her spirit, as vibrant and beautiful as a coastal sunset, will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
