David J. Finazzo, 66, of Medway passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was the husband of the late Theresa M. (Bradley) Finazzo who died in 2010.
Born on October 8, 1957, in Detroit, MI, David's journey was one marked by love, dedication to his family,
David was the beloved son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Wieske) Finazzo, and was a devoted husband to his late wife, Theresa. Together, they shared a life full of joy and raised a family that was the center of David's world.
He is survived by his loving son, Andrew Finazzo, and daughter-in-law Jamie Finazzo (Lamarre) of Medway, who will continue to honor his legacy. David was predeceased by his son, Ryan J. Finazzo, with whom he is now reunited. David was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Salvatore (Sammy) and Ryan Theresa. He was a dear brother to Chirstine Howard, Susan Speck and her husband Ed, John Finazzo and his wife Kathleen, Mary Mackris and her husband Jim, and Karen Finazzo, all of whom reside in Michigan. His life was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Professionally, David was a highly skilled software engineer who contributed significantly to the technological advancements of several companies in the region, including Lucent Technologies, Honeywell, and Big Band.
David was a deep thinker and had a great appetite for knowledge and understanding. He enjoyed listening to podcasts, reading and having in-depth discussions with family and friends. Throughout his lifetime he remained physically active. In his earlier years he played football and in his adult years he coached. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing town softball, as well as golf and fishing. Any given time when David was at home, he was sure to be spending quality time with his grandchildren or doing yard work which was one of his favorite pastimes. He was also quite the handyman and would be involved in any random household projects that may arise. He always offered help and advice he had accumulated over the years. David had a core group of friends whom he enjoyed beating at poker and taking regular trips to Twin River or Foxwoods.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 20th from 4-7PM in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21st at 11 AM in the funeral home.
Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Granite Street, Uxbridge.
