Library Hours
The Library’s hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday,
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Library will be closed Monday
October 14th.
Franklin Public Library’s 2024 Reading Challenge!
October: A book with a supernatural element!
Welcome to the Franklin Public Library's first Annual Reading Challenge! For each monthly
prompt that you complete and submit on time you will receive a Free Book Coupon that's good
at the library's Book Sale. Submissions MUST be submitted by the last day of each month in
order to qualify for that month's Free Book Coupon. For complete details and to sign-up, visit

ESL & Adult Literacy Program
The Franklin Public Library has started an English as a Second Language and Adult Literacy
Program to serve Franklin and its surrounding communities. Volunteers and students do not
need to be Franklin residents. If interested, fill out the registration form on the library’s website.

Hula Hoop Hoopla! Wednesday, October 2 nd @ 1:00PM
We're thrilled to invite you to the most awesome kids' hula hoop event of the year! It's time to
put on your dancing shoes and grab those dazzling hoops for an unforgettable workshop of hula
hoop magic! No registration required!
Ole Flamenco! Thursday, October 3 rd @ 1:00PM
Eve Costarelli, of Always Be Dancing, will lead this interactive, highly engaging program for
families that will get everyone dancing! Everyone will have a body-stretching, hand-clapping,
foot-stomping good time. This program is for all abilities; everybody is a participant. No
registration required!
Trunk or Treat! Saturday, October 19 th @ 3:30PM
Families! Dress up and join us in the library parking lot for a safe, little-kid friendly morning of
trick-or-treating in the daylight! The parking lot will be full of decorated trunks and activities!!
In the event of rain, this event will move indoors! No registration required!
Creepy Crawlers! Saturday, October 26 th @ 1:00PM
It's spooky season and what better way to celebrate than with some of the creepiest and
crawliest critters around! YES! There will be real live bugs and more! Creepy Fun for All Ages!

Teen Spooky Painting! Wednesday October 9 @ 5:30PM
Teens! Join us as we take on the fun TikTok trend of spookifying a perfectly normal painting and
making it creepy, just in time for Halloween! No registration required!
Disney Musical Bingo! Wednesday, October 23 th @ 5:00PM
Join us for Musical Bingo! Part Bingo, part trivia, participants will listen to the music as it plays
and fill in their bingo cards! This month's Bingo theme: Disney Movies!

Fantastical Folktales of Flowers Tuesday October 1 @ 7:00PM
Hosted by The Franklin Public Library & Franklin Garden Club
From the dramatic to the sublime to the wildly humorous, world stories about flowers are deeply entertaining. Retold by award-winning storyteller and theatre artist, Diane Edgecomb, along with longtime collaborator and Celtic harper, Margot Chamberlain, these stories conjure a magical world bringing new meaning to favorite garden flowers. This program is supported in full by a grant from the Franklin Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
Painting for Adults Saturday October 12 @1:00 PM
Grown-ups! Are you feeling creative? Join Miss Lily to create your very own step-by-step
painting of a covered bridge! All materials will be provided. Registration is required!
Paranormal Investigations Saturday October 19 @ 2:00 PM
Join us in welcoming Paranormal New England! They specialize in the research and
investigation of paranormal claims utilizing strict scientific methodologies, specialized custom
equipment and over 50 years of combined research experience. At this presentation they share
that experience and methodology with you! If you have a story they would love to hear it!
