David McRoberts, 64, of Medway died peacefully at his home with his family beside him following a long illness. He was the husband of Elisa J (Pedalino) McRoberts for the past 33 years.
Born in Belfast, North Ireland June 10, 1960, the son of Olga (Bunting) McRoberts of N. Easton and the late David McRoberts. David came to America in 1972 first living in N. Easton and had been a resident of Medway since 1992.
David was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School in N. Easton and received a B.S. Degree and a M.S. Degree from Western New England University.
David had great joy in being a police officer for the Town of Medway for 20 years until his retirement in 2017.
David was an avid fan of hockey, specifically the Boston Bruins.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his children, Kaleigh McRoberts of Medway, Ashlyn (McRoberts) O’Rourke and her husband John of Medway and Shawn McRoberts of Medway.
He is also survived by his siblings, Karen McRoberts of Bellingham, Paul McRoberts and his wife Kate of South Carolina and Beverley McRoberts of North Easton.
He is also survived by his grandson John ‘JD’ O’Rourke, his niece Julia McRoberts and his mother-in-law Lee Pedalino.
His calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 26 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway from 4-8 p.m.
Graveside burial services will be held on Friday, September 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
