According to a news release posted by the Medway Police, Luis Rodrigo Lema-Pomavilla, age 23, of 30 Wellington Street, Medway, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept 17, 2024 on sexual assault charges following an investigation into a series of isolated incidents. Lema-Pomavilla has been charged with the following felonies: Rape of a Child with Force (2 counts), Aggravated Rape of a child with Force (2 counts) , Statutory Rape of a Child (2 counts), Drugging for Sexual Intercourse, Enticement of a Child under 16, Kidnapping (2 counts), Intimidation of a Witness, Indecent Assault and Battery, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Lema-Pomavilla was arraigned at Wrentham District Court on Wednesday, September 18, and is being held without bail until his next court date, September 25, when the court will decide whether he poses a danger to another person or the community.
The policed noted that they cannot disclose further information due to state laws and the fact that the victim is a juvenile.
