FRANKLIN: Eleanor M. Healey

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Eleanor Marie (Cote) Healey, died on October 17, 2024 after fighting a long battle with cancer. She was 88 years old. Born April 12, 1936 in South Boston, MA, she was the youngest of six children, all predeceased. She married her husband Joseph, and they lived in Mattapan and Roslindale, before moving their growing family to Walpole. After her husband passed, she lived her final years in Franklin, near her youngest, devoted daughter, Julie.

Eleanor was a soft-spoken, selfless, and spiritual leader of our home and family. She raised eight children and is survived by: Joseph of Boston, MA; John and his partner Kim of North Attleboro, MA; Janet of Franklin, MA; James and his wife Rita of Jacksonville, FL; Jay and his wife Catherine of Andover, MA; Julie and her husband Vincent Auciello of Franklin, MA; and Jeff and his wife Susan of Mansfield, MA. She was predeceased by her loving son, Jerome, of Foxboro, MA. Eleanor was married for 59 years to her soulmate, Joseph, who preceded her in death. She loved all of her grandchildren who lovingly called her Nan: Michael, Kristin (and her husband Josh), Jacqueline, Jamie (and her husband Adam), Jay Patrick, Sarah, Caroline, Julia, Sean, Robert, Katie, Mitchell, and Brian. She also adored her four great grandchildren: Brooke, Thomas, Gianna, and Jordan.

Eleanor was devoted to her Catholic faith, particularly our Blessed Mother, Mary. She prayed the rosary thousands of times over many years and she instilled this faith in her children and their children. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. She just asks us all to pray for her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Friday October 25th, in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square Franklin at 11AM.

A private family burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
