Gerald “Jerry” Edmund Baker, 84, of Franklin died October 20th at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester following a long illness. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Linney) Baker for the past 21 years, where they most recently resided in Franklin, MA for the past 5 years.
He is survived by his step-children, Stephanie Hoffmann of Lexington, Heidi Jette of Franklin and the late Erica Tropeano.
Jerry is also survived by his grandchildren, Greg, Sean, Haley, Oliver, Julia, Jordan and Cole as well as several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his late wife, Marsha, he is survived by his children, Douglas, Cheryl, Carol and the late Alan, as well as several grandchildren.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, August 27,1940, the son of the late Arthur E. and Elsie (Wheatley) Baker, Jerry lived in Rhode Island with his late brother, Kenneth, and late sister, Sandra, for many years.
Jerry had been a draftsman for the Texas Instrument Company for 38 years. He also served in the Army Reserves for 6 1/2 years.
A great athlete Jerry loved to play basketball, football and his favorite sport golf.
His memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13th at St. Mary’s Church, Franklin, MA at 10:00 a.m.
