FPD’s Molla Joins
MFD

The Medway Fire Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Franklin Fire Captain/Paramedic Paul Molla (above) to the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Paul brings over twenty-three years career experience to the post and will primarily be responsible for Fire Prevention and Community Risk Reduction duties. Paul will begin his post with Medway Fire in December. Welcome aboard Deputy Chief Molla!

Norfolk Prison Fire Gets Franklin
Help

NBC10 Boston affiliate WJAR reports firefighters, including units from Franklin, responded to MCI-Norfolk on Clark Street around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a fire. It took about an hour to get the blaze under control. Two correctional employees reportedly were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Deer Hunting Season!

A timely reminder from the Medway Police! Monday, December 2nd is the start of the shotgun season for whitetail deer. The season runs till December 14th. Hunting hours begin a half hour before sunrise and end a half hour after sunset.

Hunting with a shotgun is allowed on private property with land owner permission and on properties owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. Hunters must wear 500 square inches of blaze orange on the chest, back, and head. During this time it is recommend that those partaking in outdoor activities wear some sort of hi-vis clothing, with blaze orange the best option.
