MEDWAY: Ronald Albert Sansoucy

Ronald Albert Sansoucy, also lovingly known as Sam, 81, of Summerville, South Carolina, formerly of Medway passed away October 18 at his home peacefully with his family by his side following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann (Ellington) Sansoucy who passed in 2021.

Born in New Bedford, October 12,1943, the son of the late Rene and Doris (Richard) Sansoucy, he was raised in New Bedford and moved to Millis, where he lived until moving for most of adult life in Medway. He moved to South Carolina following the passing of his wife.

Ronald had been the owner of Village Auto Body in Medway for 25 years.

Ronald loved reading, motorcycle riding, water skiing, and family reunions. While camping Ronald would stretch a one-day event into several days just to enjoy his family and explore destinations. There he would treasure his togetherness, especially around a campfire.

In his younger days Ronald was an actor in a 1963 movie, Demo Derby.

Ronald supported the community in many various ways such as little league sponsorship. He also had a scholarship for future autobody specialists at Tri-County Regional Vocational School.

He was active member of ST Joseph’s Church.

He was an Entrusted member of Medway Business Council.

Board Member of Medway Savings Bank.

He is survived by his children, Donald R. Sansoucy and his wife Sue of Monks Corner, South Carolina, Keith J. Sansoucy and his wife Kathleen of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Mark Sansoucy and his wife Lorraine of Torrance, California and Paula Sansoucy Brown and her husband Christopher of Summerville, South Carolina.

He was the brother of Paul, Andre and Dennis Sansoucy and Claire Sansoucy Forand and Annette Sansoucy Guertin.

He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 9 in St. Joseph Church, Village Street, Medway at 10:00

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St Joseph Church Fund for St Vincent de Paul PO Box 557, Medway, MA 02053
