Faced with the reality of a smoke-damaged and still unusable church building, and the opportunity of beautiful fall weather, the St. Mary's parish did the logical thing, celebrating mass under a blue sky Sunday morning, on the grounds of the former St. Mary's School (also used for many years by the Charter School).
Rev. Robert Poitras, pastor, presided, making a number of appreciate references to first responders and occasionally having to compete with a news helicopter overhead. A crowd of hundreds attended the Mass.
