Franklin Cultural District Lands $15k of State Funding

The Town of Franklin has announced that it has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). This funding will bolster the efforts of the Franklin Cultural District Committee, further advancing its mission to promote arts, culture, and creative initiatives that enhance the vibrancy and community engagement within the town.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council’s investment aligns with Franklin's ongoing commitment to fostering a flourishing arts ecosystem through partnerships with local artists, cultural organizations, small businesses, and the creative economy.

"The Cultural District is a key component of Franklin’s identity and future," said Jamie Hellen, Franklin Town Administrator. "This grant will help us grow our programming, bring new cultural experiences to our residents and visitors, and continue supporting the incredible creative work already happening here."

The $15,000 grant will be used to:

  • Enhance public art installations across the district.
  • Support community events and festivals showcasing local talent.
  • Promote collaborations between local artists, schools, and businesses.
  • Expand outreach efforts to promote the Franklin Cultural District as a destination for residents and visitors alike.

The Franklin Cultural District Committee is currently working on several exciting initiatives, including [mention upcoming event, festival, or project]. The FCDC will discuss and vote on the Cultural District Investment Grant funding requests at its Thursday, December 12, 2024 committee meeting scheduled to be held in-person at the Franklin Public Library community room at 7:00 pm.
