Philip Gerard Gregoire, 63, of Dudley formerly of Franklin died November 2 at Harrington Hospital, Southbridge.

Born in Norwood, May 22, 1961, the son of the late Gerard and Mary (Mucciarone) Gregoire, Philip had lived in Franklin for 48 years before moving to Milford to live with his brother and sister-in-law for 13 years before moving to Dudley 2 years ago.

Philip was a gentle soul. When he was born, the family was told that he was a special baby, and that when he died, he would go straight to Heaven. Philip lived a long meaningful life in which he touched so many lives and left many beautiful memories.

He was a graduate of North Attleboro High School and had been employed in the manufacturing industry.

Philip had many talents. He was an avid sports fan, and a proud participant in the Massachusetts Special Olympics for many years. He was also an accomplished accordion player, thanks to his uncle David, who saw Philip’s musical ability and lovingly taught Philip to play.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Angela Gregoire of Milford, and was the brother of the late Arthur Gregoire.

He is also survived by his Niece Ashley and Nephews, Anthony, Adam and Alex and his great nephews Nicholas and John.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 7 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Down Syndrome Congress, 20 Burlington Mall Road, Suite 261, Burlington, MA 01803.

Arrangements are under the care of the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
