Rose M. (Falcone) Carr, a long time Medway resident, passed away on October 31, 2024 after a long illness.
Rose was born in Roslindale on April 3, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore Falcone and Mabel (Bowman) Falcone. She graduated with the Roslindale High School Class of 1944. In 1948 she married Joseph P. Carr and the couple made their home in Norwood, MA.
The Carrs later settled in Medway and became the proprietors of J&R Superette for eleven years. In 1978, they relocated to Rockport where they owned and operated Carr’s Gift Shop. Mrs. Carr returned to Medway after the death of her husband in 1980.
Mrs. Carr was an enthusiastic ballroom dancer, and league bowler. She most enjoyed time spent with family and bible study groups.
Rose is survived by two sons, Paul J. Carr of Bellingham and Kevin Carr of East Taunton, two daughters Christine A. Carr of Sharon and Lori Ann Carr of Medway, her brother Robert Falcone of Bellingham, sisters May Shamon of Wrentham and Evelyn Davis and her husband Robert of Danbury, NH; she was sadly predeceased by her brothers Joseph Falcone and wife Iris, Louis Falcone and wife Betty and Vincent Falcone and wife Phyliss.
Rose is also survived by many grandchildren: Rachel Milbury, Joseph Milbury and his wife Desiree Freyre, Melissa Carr and her husband Yoshiki and, Lauren Carr, as well as a five great grandsons Dawson Rose, Victor Milbury, Vincent Milbury, Vaughn Milbury and Kei and three great granddaughters Delaney Rose and Rylan Rose and Emma.
A celebration of Rose’s life is set for Saturday, November 16, 2024, 10:00 AM, at the Medway Community Church, 11 Slocumb Pl, Medway, MA 02053. The burial will remain private.
